We discovered that guinea pigs are great pets. We have come to love and adore them. We have four guinea pigs at the moment. They are from different breeds and they are not related. Their names are Precious, Pearl, Pretzel and Princess. Precious is the oldest. The second is Pearl. The third is Pretzel. And the youngest is Princess.

Guinea pigs originated from south America. Guinea pigs are scientifically known as Cavia Porcellus. They are also known as Cavies.

Guinea pigs’ teeth continually grow throughout their lifetime so they need hard
objects to prevent them from overgrowing.

They have three toes in the front and four in the back. Their nails also need to be trimmed as well.

The staple food of guinea pigs is hay and alfalfa. this is commonly made into a pellet form for convenience.

They need Vitamin C supplemented to their diet or in their water because they can’t make it in their bodies.

A female guinea pig is called a Sow and the male is called a Boar. Baby guinea pigs are called Pups.

Our guinea pigs are lovely and adorable.

You will find our guestbook on the bottom of this page.
